DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two men stole 26 desktop computers from a storage shed at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach.

The theft took place in mid-November but officials didn’t realize the computers were missing until five days later. It took another four days to report the theft to police.

Detective Ray Ousterman told The Daytona Beach News-Journal (https://bit.ly/1wSwiNC ) that by the time police got the case on Nov. 24, they were handling a rash of vehicle break-ins across the city, including 40 over Thanksgiving weekend. Now, he says authorities are focusing on the computer theft.

He says the images of two men were caught on tape as they loaded the computers into a sports utility vehicle.

The university police department is working with Daytona Beach investigators.
