NEW YORK (AP) - The American Red Cross says about 80 people have been displaced by a fire that ravaged a building in Queens.

About 40 of those people - from 11 households - have asked the Red Cross for emergency housing. The relief organization is also providing emergency financial assistance for food.

The blaze went to five alarms Thursday afternoon, sending flames through the building on 97th Street in the Ozone Park neighborhood.

On Thursday night, fire broke out at a building on Stillwell Avenue in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn. The Fire Department said the building contained businesses on the first floor and was vacant on the two floors above.

No injuries were reported at either fire.
