MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Gov. Robert Bentley’s inaugural committee is planning a full day of activities for his inauguration Jan. 19.

The committee announced Friday that the activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a prayer service at First Baptist Church in downtown Montgomery. Bentley and the state’s other constitutional officers will be sworn in starting at 9 a.m. on the Capitol steps. The swearing-in ceremony will be followed by the inaugural parade along downtown’s main street, Dexter Avenue.

The governor and first lady Dianne Bentley will attend a free event called “Thank You, Alabama” at Cramton Bowl and the Montgomery Multiplex from noon until 2 p.m. The event will feature Alabama artists, food and entertainment.

Bentley plans a small, black-tie inaugural celebration at 6:30 p.m. at the Montgomery Convention Center. Tickets are required.
