VERNON, Conn. (AP) - Police are responding to a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 84 in Vernon that closed the highway to traffic in both directions.

Vernon police say fuel spilled and caught fire as a result of the accident on Friday morning.

I-84 westbound has since reopened to traffic.

The agencies responding to the accident include Vernon police and the Connecticut state police.
