COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a man who escaped from a central Ohio prison more than 22 years ago has been arrested in Indiana.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that 71-year-old Roger Perdue was apprehended Dec. 12 in Kokomo, Indiana, where he had been living with his wife under an assumed name. Acting on a tip, officers found out where he was living and arrested him at his residence.

The patrol says Perdue escaped from the London Correctional Institution southwest of Columbus in March 1992. He had served five months of a 5 ½-year sentence for grand theft when he escaped.

The patrol says Perdue revealed his identity and surrendered to officers who came to his house. He is in custody in Indiana and will be returned to prison.
