MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Officials at Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot say construction efforts have moved on from flood damage repairs.

KXMC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/13kwOtp ) crew development director Becky Dewitz says the zoo plans to accept bids on the construction of a red panda enclosure in January. The 300-square-foot space is located near the recently renovated aviary. The project was one of the first unrelated to rebuilding from the Souris River flooding in 2011.

Dewitz says officials turned down a bid on the red panda project last year and have tried to reduce costs by working with the architect. She says construction should take about 45-60 days and doesn’t require a specialized contractor.
