NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A 35-year-old Norfolk man has pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography.

Eric Kevin Downey entered his plea in federal court in Norfolk on Thursday.

Downey was indicted by a federal grand jury in November. He faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison when sentenced.

According to a statement of facts filed with the plea agreement, Downey was identified when it was discovered that he had been surreptitiously filming a minor while she was drying off in a shower.

Court records say he also had been collecting images of minors engaged in sexually explicit activity from the Internet. Downey admitted he had been collecting these images since about 1999 or 2000. He will be sentenced on March 30.
