TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a woman twice drove into a crowd outside of a bar in Trenton and seriously injured a 20-year-old woman.

Trenton Police Lt. Steven Varn said that 29-year-old Natasha Hightower drove into the crowd outside of the Anchor Bar around 1:30 a.m. Friday. He says she didn’t hit anyone the first time, but then backed up and drove into the crowd again.

Varn says she hit an unidentified woman and then backed up and ran her over a second time. The woman suffered serious lower body injuries and was taken into surgery at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Varn says she was listed in stable condition.

Hightower was charged with aggravated assault, driving under the influence and weapons charges. It wasn’t immediately clear if she had an attorney.

Varn says it’s not known if Hightower knew the victim.
