DOVER, Del. (AP) - State data shows traffic deaths are up 23 percent this year over 2013 with two weeks to go in the year.

The News Journal (https://delmarvane.ws/1zHQQus ) reports police had reported 108 fatal crashes resulting in 121 deaths this year through Wednesday on Delaware roads.

Twelve crashes this year involved more than one death, including a tour bus crash on Sept. 21 that killed three passengers. Officials say that’s twice the average number of multi-fatality crashes in Delaware over the last five years.

The Delaware Office of Highway Safety says the state is on pace to hit 128 deaths in 2014.

Delaware had a 50-year low of 101 traffic deaths last year. During the previous five-year period, the state averaged 112 traffic deaths a year.
