ATLANTA (AP) - The undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Education is expected to attend a financial aid training conference and student round table in Atlanta.

Department of Education officials say Undersecretary Ted Mitchell is scheduled to visit the Georgia World Congress Center and Clark Atlanta University on Tuesday.

Officials say Mitchell is scheduled to address more than 6,300 financial aid professionals during a training conference at 8:30 a.m.

Mitchell is also expected to speak with 25 undergraduate and graduate students to discuss several issues, including initiatives to improve access to higher education, affordability of higher education, quality and graduation rates. The round table discussion at Clark Atlanta is set for 11 a.m.
