BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) - A Beaverton man has filed suit alleging a Washington County sheriff’s deputy followed him into his garage and beat him unconscious.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1DVqw47 ) the suit, filed in U.S. District Court, alleges Deputy Allen Pastori entered 61-year-old James G. Wright’s garage in October 2012, just after Wright had parked his car.

The suit says the deputy punched Wright until he blacked out and handcuffed him. Doctors in a hospital determined Wright had bleeding in his brain.

According to Pastori’s police report, the deputy followed Wright home because the man was intoxicated and was speeding. Pastori says he struggled to get Wright out of his car and punched him because he was afraid Wright would reach for a pocketknife on the console.

The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount in damages.
