MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) - Two people have been arrested after a Montrose County deputy led authorities to a trunk load of mail.

Mariah Earle and Cassandra Mazza-Bautista were arrested on suspicion of theft and conspiracy.

Federal authorities say they have been getting reports of missing mail for about a week. Authorities say hundreds of pieces of mail were found dumped in the county and recovered as evidence.

According to the Montrose Daily Press (https://tinyurl.com/lgq4l77 ), the arrests were made after authorities got a tip from an off-duty deputy that a woman was driving around going through mailboxes.
