BRIDGEWATER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a Bridgewater man has been cited to appear in court after police say they found an indoor marijuana growing operation.

Authorities say they went to the residence after getting a tip. State police say while meeting the occupants outside they were able to smell marijuana.

They searched the residence and say they found 55 pot plants growing in upstairs bedrooms. Police say they also found grow lights, fans, heaters, a water irrigation system and humidifiers.

Seth Brownell was arrested and issued a citation to appear in court on Jan. 27. It was not immediately known if he is being represented by an attorney.
