SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - Ridley’s Family Markets is buying four grocery stores across Wyoming.

The Sheridan Press reports (https://bit.ly/1sJKxQJ ) Ridleys will take over a Safeway store in Sheridan, two Safeways in Casper and an Albertson’s market in Laramie.

Ridley’s Family Markets is a grocer with 24 stores located across Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming.

The Federal Trade Commission must approve the agreement before it is final. The transaction is set to be complete by February 2015.

Ridley’s bought the four stores from Associated Food Stores, a grocery wholesaler and co-op that facilitates such deals.

A spokesman for Associated Food Stores says the sale resulted from the proposed merger between Albertson’s and Safeway. Those companies are selling certain stories to address areas in which the merger would result in them having too much market share.
