GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The stepfather of two girls whose bodies were found in a house has been charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

The Greeneville Sun (https://bit.ly/1r9HN3O) reported that 21-year-old Erick Eugene Jones Jr. was charged Saturday in the deaths of 14-month-old Kynsleigh Easterly and 2-month-old Trinity Tweed.

Authorities said emergency dispatchers received a call at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday about a 14-month-old infant in distress. Officials also found the other sibling unresponsive at the home.

Investigators said Jones and the girls were at the home with a 22-year-old female, whose name has not been released. They said Jones apparently made the 911 call.

Authorities have not released details about the deaths of the girls. Autopsies are being performed on their bodies.

“This will be a long-term investigation,” said Greeneville Police Det. Capt. Tim Davis.

Jones was being held without bond in the Greene County Detention Center.

Online court records did not show if Jones had a lawyer Saturday.
