ELLENDALE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State police are investigating a collision that landed a bicyclist in the hospital with a traumatic brain injury.

Police say an 18-year-old was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier on northbound on Hummingbird Road near Ellendale at roughly 7: 15 p.m. on Friday evening. At the same time 64-year-old Collin Worth was riding his bicycle southbound in the northbound lane. Police say the driver didn’t see Worth at first and hit the cyclist. Police say Worth was thrown onto the driver’s windshield before landing in the roadway.

Police say Worth, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, sustained a brain injury and was airlifted to the hospital.

Police say no charges have been filed, and the incident is under investigation.
