Former President George W. Bush quietly disguised himself as Santa Claus and handed out toys at the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas last week.

The 68-year-old presented toys to sick children who are spending their Christmas at the Texas facility. Mr. Bush’s appearance on Dec. 16 was not reported by media until Saturday.

“Guess who just came and gave Emily a Christmas present dressed in a Santa suit with Secret Service and all?!?!?………. Pres. George Bush,” Natalie Smith, whose daughter died of heart disease earlier this year, wrote on Facebook, the Daily Mail reported.

Ms. Smith’s surviving daughter, Emily, has reportedly been in and out of the hospital after undergoing a heart replacement.

Other reports on Twitter said Mr. Bush’s Secret Service detail was dressed as Santa’s elves.

The former president, who has kept a low profile since leaving office, made a surprise visit last weekend to the Sept. 11 museum in New York City.
