ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A New York man who was arrested in Georgia a week after a fatal shooting at home has been convicted of murder.

Prosecutors in Rochester said Friday that a Monroe County jury found 34-year-old Khaleef Reed guilty of second-degree murder after a trial. He faces 25 years to life when he’s sentenced Jan. 30.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Bezer says Reed shot 27-year-old Sir-Cordae Hightower four times in the driveway of a Rochester home on March 31. Bezer says the attack was unprovoked and witnessed by the victim’s sister.

Reed was apprehended in Jonesboro, Georgia on April 7.

He’ll be held in the Monroe County Jail until sentencing.
