Police say Officer Anthony Meirose was standing in the door when he was attacked by a knife-wielding man. Meirose shot the man multiple times.

The man was pronounced dead at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He is identified as 30-year-old Allen Locke of Rapid City.

Meirose and other people in the house were not hurt.
