BOSTON (AP) - A deadline is looming for Massachusetts residents looking to sign up for insurance through the state’s health connector.

People who qualify and need coverage by Jan. 1 must not only choose an insurance plan but pay for it by Tuesday. That includes many people who are transitioning from temporary coverage in the current year.

The health connector planned to have call centers staffed with 100 customer service agents over the weekend.

Walk-in centers at 133 Portland Street in Boston and 146 Main Street in Worcester will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

Officials say the revamped connector website has been operating without major glitches since it was launched Nov. 15, replacing one that was crippled by technical problems, forcing hundreds of thousands of people into temporary Medicaid coverage.
