CLAYMONT, Del. (AP) - New Castle County authorities say three people were injured in an overnight apartment fire in Claymont

New Castle County paramedics say they arrived to the three-story apartment complex just before midnight Sunday to find flames shooting through the roof.

A 79-year-old resident was taken to the hospital with a back injury she got while evacuating her apartment. A firefighter got a head injury while suppressing the fire, and a paramedic got an ankle injury while working at the scene.

None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

The fire came the same day as another apartment fire in Claymont. That blaze, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, killed a man and sent a second to the hospital in serious condition for smoke inhalation and high carbon monoxide levels.
