BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - Bay St. Louis police say a 22-year-old Gulfport man attempted to flee after he shot into a crowd and wounded one person. Police say the owner of a nearby bar chased the suspects two blocks and detained him until officers arrived.

Police Chief Mike DeNardo tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/13vb0uX ) Roger Caplinger caught Trey Tillery and held him until he was later arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Caplinger he heard six shots outside the bar and saw a guy that had been shot in the leg or foot.

DeNardo says Brandon Treadway was wounded in the foot and knee.

Caplinger says he caught up with the suspect and wrested him to the ground.

It was unclear whether Tillery has an attorney.
