LEWISBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg plans to repair about 5,200 crumbling exterior bricks.

A fundraising campaign called “Fix the Bricks” topped its $100,000 goal for the project.

Carnegie Hall board chairman Elizabeth Spangler tells The Register-Herald (https://bit.ly/1zoa3Cu ) that the bricks will be repointed next summer.

Repointing is the replacement of mortar.

Spangler says restoration specialists will match the appearance of the 112-year-old building’s original mortar.
