GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Hall County are searching for an inmate who walked away from a work detail assignment.

Hall County Jail Warden Walt Davis told the Gainesville Times (https://bit.ly/1xFu4nJ ) on Monday that a fugitive task force, search dogs and other law enforcement agencies are searching for 35-year-old Derrick Crawford.

Authorities have said Crawford was sentenced to 20 years in state prison on cocaine trafficking charges.

Crawford is black, 6-foot-1, weighs 220 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket and white pants with a blue stripe down the leg. Details on how Crawford escaped the work detail weren’t immediately available.
