PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices in Rhode Island are continuing to drop, falling 13 cents per gallon in the past week.

A weekly survey by AAA Southern New England released Monday finds that the average price of a gallon of regular was down to $2.62.

That’s 90 cents less than at this time last year and 33 cents lower than a month ago.

Prices have been on a downward trend since the summer and data from the state energy office shows the price of gas have not been so low in Rhode Island since 2010.

AAA says the price of gas in Rhode Island is still 23 cents higher than the national average of $2.39 per gallon.
