MADRID (AP) - Getafe says forward Angel Lafita will be sidelined for at least five months after injuring his right leg.

Getafe says Lafita will need surgery on a torn ligament in his right leg and expects him to be out “between five and six months.”

The 30-year-old Lafita had to be carried off the pitch after he hurt his leg during Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Granada.

This is his third season with the Madrid-based club.

Getafe enters the winter break in 12th place in the Spanish league.
