PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Maine home sales dipped 9.85 percent in November while the median sales price dropped 1.43 percent.

The Maine Association of Realtors reports the median sales price for November was $172,500.

The National Association of Realtors reported a nationwide sales increase of 2.4 percent for the same month. The national median sales price rose 5.6 percent to $206,200 in November.

Maine’s numbers also lagged behind trends in the Northeast, where sales were up 4.6 percent and the median sales price rose 1.3 percent to $246,100.

Cumberland County was the busiest county in the state for home sales in the fall 2014 quarter. Sales in Cumberland picked up a little more than 12.5 percent in the quarter compared to the same period last year.
