COVINA, Calif. (AP) - A man standing on train tracks in Covina was struck and killed by a Metrolink passenger train heading from San Bernardino to Los Angeles.

A police statement says Los Angeles County firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene Sunday afternoon. His name has been withheld pending notification of relatives.

The train carrying 116 passengers stopped after striking the man and was delayed while officers investigated.
