SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Police in northern Indiana say a man trying to flee officers spent 30 minutes in a lake on the campus of the University of Notre Dame before being apprehended.

Police say they began pursuing the man in Mishawaka, just east of South Bend, on Monday after he allegedly violated a protective order. Mishawaka police told the South Bend Tribune (https://bit.ly/1JJLvax ) that during the chase he broke into a home and stole a vehicle before fleeing on foot on campus.
