SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) - Authorities in Seaside say a 2-year-old girl who died Saturday was killed by blunt-force trauma, and the death is a homicide case.

They also say two other children are being treated at a hospital, but didn’t say why they are being treated.

The police department released the autopsy results Monday and identified the victim as Evangelina Wing.

The agency said her mother, 24-year-old Dorothy Wing, was speaking to investigators. The police said the girl’s father doesn’t live in the area and isn’t considered a suspect.

The police said Wing had two sons living with her, ages 5 and 2. Police said they were taken into protective custody.

The police said they found the girl dead when they responded to a report that a child wasn’t breathing.
