NEWARK, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a man sought for shooting and wounding his ex-girlfriend and her 11-year-old son has been taken into custody in Rochester.

Police in the Wayne Count village of Newark say a U.S. Marshal’s task force arrested 45-year-old Aron Bell around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities had been searching for Bell since a 34-year-old woman and her son were shot early Saturday morning at their home in Newark, 30 miles east of Rochester.

Police say the woman was wounded in the head, arm and hand, and the boy was shot in the arm. Both are recovering.

Officials say they were shot with a .22-caliber weapon.

Two other children, ages 3 and 13, weren’t injured.

Police say Bell will be arraigned Monday in village court on charges stemming from a previous incident. Charges from Saturday’s shooting haven’t been determined yet.
