HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say two drivers are dead and two passengers injured following a multiple-vehicle crash.

Nassau County homicide detectives say a 26-year-old driver in a Volkswagen was exiting a parking lot when he collided with a 17-year-old driver in an Acura headed westbound on Old Country Road in Hicksville.

The accident happened shortly before midnight Monday. The collision sent one of the vehicles into a nearby Toyota. That driver was not hurt.

The 26-year-old Volkswagen driver was ejected from the car and was possibly hit by a fourth vehicle. He was pronounced dead. The Acura driver struck a tree and was killed.

Two passengers in the Volkswagen were hospitalized.

None of the victims were immediately identified.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
