RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Community Development Block Grants are headed to two rural Virginia counties.

The grant funding announced Monday totals $600,000 for Charles City County and $122,652 for Wise County.

The larger grant will be used to install broadband services to the Roxbury Industrial Park and other businesses along Route 106 in Charles City County. Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s office says the funding is expected to retain 175 jobs at one of the county’s largest employers.

In Wise County, the funding will be used for a sewer project serving the Wells Boone community. It will benefit 11 households.
