CAMDEN, Del. (AP) - A Delaware man has been killed while out on a walk with his dog.

Delaware State Police said Tuesday that 55-year-old David Bilow was walking with his Labrador mix around 7 p.m. Monday in Camden when he was struck.

Police say Bilow was in a clearly marked crosswalk when a car hit him, throwing him onto the vehicle and then into the roadway. He died three hours later at a hospital.

Police say the driver of the car, 18-year-old Kyle Tieman, didn’t see Bilow because he had just avoided a collision with a car that had turned in front of him. An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police are looking for the driver of the other car.

Police say Bilow’s dog ran home after his owner was hit and was later treated for undetermined injuries.
