WARRENTON, Ga. (AP) - State law enforcement agents are investigating allegations that a sheriff’s deputy hosting a Christmas party at his home drew his gun and pointed it at a guest.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1CBfDjw) that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to look into the case.

GBI Special Agent in Charge Pat Morgan said the agency was contacted Dec. 14 by Warren County Sheriff Joe Peebles to investigate the incident.

Authorities said the case remains under investigation and will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review upon completion.
