YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) - The east entrance of Yellowstone National Park is now open for the winter season.

The National Park Service announced that snowmobiles and snow coaches may now travel from the park’s East Entrance over Sylvan Pass to Fishing Bridge Junction.

Winter weather can force road closures and visitors should verify the status of any road they intend to use with the park.

The road from the park’s North Entrance at Gardiner, Montana, through Mammoth Hot Springs and on to Cooke City, Montana., outside the park’s Northeast Entrance, is open to vehicle traffic all year.
