FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - The city of Frederick has contracted with the International Association of Chiefs of Police to conduct a search for a new police chief.

Officials say the city agreed to pay the association $34,000 to conduct a search and present candidates for the position.

Chief Thomas Ledwell retired in September. Capt. Patrick Grossman was named acting chief.

The hiring process that is expected to take four to six months
