BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Bond was set at $125,000 for a Billings man who is charged with shooting another man in the leg during what prosecutors say was a drug deal gone bad.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1B2DOWs) 26-year-old Chad Travis Milton made an initial appearance in Justice Court Monday on charges of felony assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment.

Prosecutors allege Milton argued early Saturday with a man and a woman about the purchase of painkillers and shot the 42-year-old man in the leg in a motel hallway.

Milton was arrested later when police arrived at the motel to arrest another woman and spotted a gun in his pants. Milton was on felony probation and the gun had been reported stolen in Cody, Wyoming.

Officers later learned that the shooting victim was at the hospital and had identified Milton as the shooter.
