PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say they’re searching for a suspect after a man was wounded in the back as he walked home from a store in south Philadelphia.

They say the 33-year-old was struck by a single bullet around 1 a.m. Tuesday near 25th and Moore streets in the city’s Point Breeze neighborhood.

He’s in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police say the suspect fired at least eight shots.

They say the wounded man, who was walking with his 30-year-old cousin, was able to run home and call police.

Police say the man indicated he didn’t know why he had been shot.
