STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) - A Maryland man was arrested in the home police say he was attempting to burglarize after a nine-hour stand-off in Queen Anne’s County.

Maryland State Police responded to a home in Stevensville on Monday morning after a caller reported a suspicious man in his neighbor’s home. When troopers arrived, they found broken glass in the back of the house and ordered the man inside to come out.

Police say he refused and barricaded himself inside for the next nine hours.

The standoff ended peacefully and police arrested the man, 25-year-old Brandon Borradaile of Ocean City, on charges of burglary and malicious destruction of property. No attorney is listed for Borradaile.

Police say the car Borradaile was using was stolen, and they’ve linked it to a Friday burglary in Ocean City.
