CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Charleston County officials have identified a man shot to death in downtown Charleston earlier this week.

The coroner’s office said 24-year-old Don Skinner died in the shooting Sunday night.

Charleston police are still working to identify a suspect in the shooting.

A police report said Skinner’s girlfriend said she dropped him off to visit his sister’s house and told him she would be back in 20 minutes. The woman said police were there when she returned.

Skinner’s sister said she did not know her brother was in the area until she saw him in the street.

Skinner was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital around 6 p.m., where he died.
