EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Curling Club is offering hands-on instruction in the Olympic sport of Curling prior to the start of its winter leagues.

The club will hold a Learn to Curl session on Sunday at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Edmond. USCA-certified curling instructors will introduce those new to the game at the event.

Participants should wear loose-fitting, warm, layered clothing and stable, non-slip shoes, such as tennis shoes. All special equipment, such as brooms and Teflon “sliders” will be provided by the club. The cost will be $25 per person to pay for ice time.

The club’s winter leagues begin a week later on Jan. 4. Leagues will take place at on Sundays at Arctic Edge, concluding on March 1.
