BEAR, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a teenager who tried to rob a pizzeria was tackled by employees and held down until troopers arrived.

It happened about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Nino’s Pizza Restaurant in Bear. Police say a 17-year-old male implied he was armed and demanded cash from an employee.

Troopers say the employee refused to give the youth money and went to the back of the restaurant to call 911 and tell the other workers what was happening.

Officers say some employees tackled the youth and held him down until troopers arrived. No one was hurt.

The youth was charged with robbery.
