AURORA, Neb. (AP) - A railroad bridge project planned for next month will force the temporary closure of Nebraska Highway 14 in Aurora.

The Nebraska Department of Roads says the project is scheduled to be completed from Jan. 2 to Jan. 5.

A contractor hired by BNSF railroad will be driving pilings for new bridge supports. The railroad is expanding the track to two side-by-side tracks in the area.

During the project, a detour will be in place for drivers. When the highway reopens on Jan. 5, traffic will be restricted to one lane because of the bridge work.
