STRYKER, Ohio (AP) - A regional jail in northwest Ohio says an inmate has died after being taken to the hospital.

The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio says Stephen Sargent was pronounced dead Tuesday morning at the Bryan campus of Community Hospitals.

The jail says Sargent was serving a 71-day sentence on drug use charges out of Sylvania Municipal Court.

The 26-year-old Sargent also was being held on charges of domestic violence and driving without a license from the same court.

The jail said it could not release details of Sargent’s medical condition. Jail manager Linda Shambarger said foul play was not suspected.

The jail serves Lucas, Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams counties.
