ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Roanoke police are asking the public for help in solving two fatal hit-and-run cases.

Sgt. Jeffrey Newman says in a news release that police believe someone knows something or might have heard something that could help each investigation.

Christine Turner was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross a street on Oct. 29, 2013. Police say the 59-year-old Turner died in January at a Roanoke hospital.

Sandra Loughry was walking along a street with her boyfriend on July 5 when she was hit by a vehicle. The 45-year-old Loughry died at the scene.

Police say the cases are unrelated.
