COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Columbus say they’re investigating a series of early morning fires and are looking for information on any suspicious activity that may have been linked to the blazes.

Fire Marshal Ricky Shores tells the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer (https://bit.ly/1sUQkD3 ) firefighters were responding to a flaming pile of tires early Tuesday morning when they were called to douse an abandoned van that had been set on fire. Shores says after those two fires, authorities were called to two fires at buildings that were next to each other.

Authorities are investigating the causes of the fires.
