TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say woman has been arrested in a hit-and-run accident that fatally injured a pedestrian in Tucson last December.

Tucson police say 62-year-old Rosa Maria Grijalva surrendered to police on Monday.

Investigators say they spent a year on the case, found a key witness and developed enough evidence to make an arrest.

Grijalva has been booked into the Pima County jail on a felony count of failing to stay at a fatal crash.

It was unclear Tuesday if she has a lawyer yet.

The crash occurred Dec. 19, 2013 on Tucson’s south side and left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Police say he was later identified as 55-year-old David L. Hamilton and he died Feb. 4 from his injuries at a Tucson hospital.
