WASHINGTON (AP) - Three shootings happened all in one day in the District of Columbia’s Petworth neighborhood, including one that was fatal.

Metropolitan police say the first two shootings happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday near 9th and Jefferson streets in the northwest Washington neighborhood. In both cases, a group of men fired on two different cars, including a Camaro that had Fraternal Order of Police tags. It’s unclear whether police believe it was the same group of men involved in both shootings.

No one was hurt.

A third shooting happened later Tuesday evening five blocks south. Police say they found 21-year-old Daniel Hinton shot dead in the front seat of his car. The engine was running and the lights were on.

Police haven’t said whether Hinton’s shooting was related to the early-morning shootings.
