DOVER, Del. (AP) - Corrections officials say an inmate who failed to return from an authorized pass has been extradited to Delaware.

The Department of Correction said in a news release on Wednesday that 24-year-old Jonathan Santiago left the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover on an authorized pass on Sept. 3, 2013. Officials say he failed to return to the facility.

Authorities say Santiago was arrested in Kent County, Maryland, on theft charges and given an 18-month prison term.

After completing his sentence in Maryland, Santiago was extradited to Delaware on Monday. He is charged with escape after conviction and violation of probation.
